Wendy has been awarded Music Together Certification Level II, having demonstrated outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education. The certificate was granted by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ, Kenneth K. Guilmartin, Founder/Director.
Wendy's journey to early childhood music education and exploration is a natural progression from all of her experience prior to motherhood. After graduating S.U.N.Y. Binghamton with a B.A. in Theater Arts, with honors, she spent the next sixteen years performing professionally as an actress and singer internationally, nationally, in New York Off-Broadway, in Cabarets, commercials and voice-overs. During her professional acting career, Wendy continued to study voice, acting and dance in New York. She now plays the guitar in her classes . Wendy has just recorded an early childhood, multicultural book with songs on CD; "Chasing Rainbows", written by Nadine Scharman and will be performing the piece with songs in the upcoming 2008-2009 season.
Wendy has been privileged to be a music educator in Queens and Long Island, NY at Flushing Town Hall, The Samuel Field YM & YWHA, Countryside Montessori Day School, Not Just Art, Inc., Studio E School of Dance and Beth Sholom Day Camp.
Wendy's vision for Mommy, Music & Me, inc., founded in 2003, is to provide a nurturing place for families to participate and support their children's musical, artistic and academic journey of learning by providing the hightest quality of programs.
