regardless of your own musical ability?
Music Together, offered by Mommy, Music & Me, inc., is a research based, Music and Movement approach to early childhood music development just right for Babies, Toddlers & Preschoolers with the Grown-ups who delight in participating!
Research shows that early childhood exposure to music and music making stimulates the mind, rhythmic movement promotes balance and coordination and the class environment helps to support self expression, self confidence and socialization.
Music Together pioneered the concept of research based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and encourages adult involvement. Twelve children and their parents or caregivers (grandparents, nanny, babysitter) meet for 45 minutes each week for ten week sessions to experience new songs, chants, movement activities and instrumental jam session. We use a great variety of age appropriate, clean, child-safe instruments and props to explore and enhance the musical experience. Both adults and children participate in the circle, led by a teacher with early childhood and music skills. Our expectations in class are only that the adults participate. Children must have the freedom, space and opportunity to process and participate in their own individual way.
Our Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. We'll help you provide your child with the basic musical skills needed to enjoy school and social musical activities, and to study an instrument should he or she choose to do so.
Each semester: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer, families receive new Music Together CD's and a songbook full of pictures and activities to help the whole family learn and enjoy the songs at home. A parent guide is provided for every new family. There are NINE different Music Together song collections in all and three additional Summer Song compilations.
Our classes give adults the space and guidance to have as much fun as the children!
